Conflicting information on William Sumpter and Elizabeth

According to the following Genforum post, William Sumpter and Elizabeth Iveson of Histon, Cambridge, England are not the parents of Gen. Thomas Sumpter and his siblings. It appears another William and Elizabeth Sumpter, that migrated to Virginia, are be the parents of this family:

Films #496700 and #1040483 located in the archives at Salt Lake City, contain parish records from Histon, Cambridge, England. The William and Elizabeth Iverson Sumpter of Histon were NOT the parents of General Thomas Sumter or of his sibblings, William, John, Patience and Edmund. 1695 William Sumpter was born to Nicklas and Katherine Mathews Sumpter. In 1729 William married Elizabeth Iverson (widow). July 1740 Elizzabeth Sumpter, wife of William, dies. May 1753 William Sumpter dies in Histon (England). The parents of General Thomas Sumter and of his sibblings, died in Virginia. William Sumpter, father of the General, left a will probated 7 July 1752 in VA. Elizabeth Sumpter, mother of the General, lived with her daughter Patience Sudderth in Albemarle Co, VA, until her death in early 1800s.

WeRelate pages have been corrected to show that the William and Elizabeth Sumpter of Virginia were NOT the same people as the William and Elizabeth (widow Iveson) Sumpter of Histon, Cambridgeshire, England.
