Family talk:Thomas Smith and Elizabeth Unknown (2)

Is there a reason my contrbutions are being sidestepped & changed [18 December 2011]

I am extremely confused. My additions to this family (family group and person pages) are being removed (citations, text, etc.) in favor of undocumented information. Reasons for their removal are not being given. If I am in error with the information I post, please let me know.--Kpb2011 15:11, 18 December 2011 (EST)

Elizabeth Smith 1646 is my son-in-laws 9th great grandmother & I am on the phone with his great grandmother who has a Family Bible with their family History in it. I got a message that my tree had been changed by someone & I called Great Gram to find out what the Bible said. I changed my tree to reflect my families history according to their records handed down for generations. (Although you were right about Boston) The Bible says "Elisabeth's father Thomas arrived in Boston 1635". It also says he was "Christened 02 Jan 1605."--Lilfox 15:55, 18 December 2011 (EST)

Thank you for your explanation. Your son-in-law is very lucky to have such a document in his family's possession. Researching a Smith family that far back is not easy. Perhaps to avoid confusion and assist others who are researching this line, a source citation can be provided for your facts, such as, Family Bible in the possession of the Smith Family, or whatever the standard citation is for a family bible. That way, if there is information that conflicts or can provide additional details, other researchers can weigh the information appropriately.--Kpb2011 16:13, 18 December 2011 (EST)
