[add comment] [edit] The Registration Index and Registration Entries [13 April 2022]General Register Office. England and Wales Civil Registration Marriage Index, is a source of marriages that does not provide the exact date and the church in which the marriage was performed; it only provides the "registration district" where the registration was filed and the year and quarter when the marriage took place. If you know the precise date and place of the marriage you must have obtained it by viewing a certificate or inspecting the register of the church where it took place. Your source may have supplied the correct information, but the name you have given the source is not the one where you obtained it.--Goldenoldie 10:09, 12 April 2022 (UTC) Point taken, Goldenoldie. I seem to have specified the wrong source. The date came from a scan I downloaded from Ancestry.com of an entry in "West Yorkshire, England, Marriages and Banns, 1813-1921". I'll correct the source once I've brushed up on WeRelate editing.--Walkal 03:54, 13 April 2022 (UTC) |
