Family talk:Thomas Davis and Marry Collins (1)

1810 census [20 November 2021]

On the FamilySearch site, there is a family tree which purports to be this couple and their children, and that family is linked to the 1810 census record where head of household is "Thomas M. Davis". However, the 1810 census record for the family is not consistent with the dates of birth which have been recorded here. The most glaring problem is the age bracketing of the oldest household members. Margaret, born in 1800, could contribute to either the <10 or 10-16 bracket.

In the graphic below, mailes are on the left and females on the right vs. the || middle boundary Top is based on family info here; bottom is the 1810 census record.

<10 | 10-16 | 16-26 | 26-45 | >45 || <10 | 10-16 | 16-26 | 26-45 | >45
..3....................1..............3.....1................1..........
..1....1........2...............1.....2..............2...............1..

If the parents were born in or around 1775, they would fall into the 26-45 age range, not the >45 age range.
