Family talk:Stephen Kellogg and Mindwell Belden (1)

FYI: Egremont Probate Vol. 4, p. 159. Note the name of the widow in the "Imprimis" clause. Is her husband the Aaron Loomis who signed (at the end) as guardian of heirs of Nathaniel Kellogg or another Loomis? TBD. Maybe later. Also names the daughter as still (dated 1781) as Mindwell Kellogg ruling her out as Abijah's wife.

Weird place to have a discussion on the second husband of Mindwell. Seems like her page would be more appropriate and didn't want to post the source since I usually put probates on the page of the person who have them and then reference them from other pages. Additional documents to be found at Vol. 1, p. 76, 83; Vol. 3, p. 16; Vol. 4, 264-5, but I haven't read them since a distribution is usually a great place to find a list of heirs which was the goal. --Jrich 00:16, 15 May 2020 (UTC)

An issue of National Genealogical Society Quarterly, Volumes 31-34, seems to have an article on this. See here. It suggests her 2nd husband was Aaron as "several papers giving the accounts of the administrators, show that the widow Mindwell (Kellogg) had later married Aaron Loomis", but other than noted above, which indicates no explicit relationship, I didn't notice anything in the probate documents. Perhaps I missed one or some item of interest. However, Berkshire deed Vol. 20, p. 310 confirms it was Aaron Loomis that was the second husband of Mindwell as he sells to Nehemiah Kellogg in 1784 land "part of the Estate of Stephen Kellogg Dec'd which was set of[f] to his widow which [widow] is now my wife". --Jrich 02:42, 15 May 2020 (UTC)
