Samuel Bartlett married two wives who both had the maiden name Elizabeth Lothrop (the first wife was daughter of Isaac Lothrop; the second wife was the daughter of Thomas Lothrop, but at the time of marriage was a widow named Elizabeth Witherell). Samuel had six children by each, but all the children of the first marriage died young, so all surviving children were from the second marriage.
