Family talk:Richard Bartlett and Unknown (7)

I am trying to make sense of this page and cannot reconcile what it says with most of the sources I find. Unfortunately the only source cited is a website, never a good sign, and worse, the URL is no longer valid, so I can't even find out if the page reflects what that website says.

What I seem to find based on generally reliable sources is that Richard and John Bartlett came to Newbury. John appears to be Richard's son. The Personal History given for Richard is mostly about John but no page exists for John himself where it more properly belongs. John m. Joan and Joan died on the date given here on Richard wife's page and is clearly identified as John's wife in the Newbury VR, not as Richard's wife. Regarding Richard's wife, "There is no record of his wife; she probably having died in England." This assumption apparently based on the presumption that Richard came in the Mary and John but no wife is listed in the passenger list.

I don't pretend to be an expert in this family, but I will be changing this page to mesh with the facts that I can find. --Jrich 13:33, 13 May 2010 (EDT)
