Family talk:Ralph De Somery and Margaret Marshal (4)

Is this marriage correct? [20 January 2013]

Charles Cawley, at Medieval Lands, says that this marriage, given in The Complete Peerage, is chronologically impossible, and that Ralph's wife is Margaret Crassus, daughter of William Crassus le Gros. He says, "Her parentage is confirmed by a charter [dated to before 1194] under which “William le Gros” gave land at Little Dalby to “Ralph Somery” as part of the marriage contract for his daughter Margaret".--Werebear 14:43, 20 January 2013 (EST)

Ok, we'll proceed on the premise that Margaret exists but wasn't daughter of John FitzGilbert. --jrm03063 15:18, 20 January 2013 (EST)
I've started this by changing Margaret's name to Margaret Unknown and indicating that her former parents have been refuted. --jrm03063 15:24, 20 January 2013 (EST)
