Importance of accurate source citations [31 August 2018]

I am removing "Stow, MA Vital Records pp 222-227" from this page. This page range corresponds to all the marriages under the name Whitney. This marriage is not found anywhere in that set of pages.

But this comment implies the date here has been posted based on the authority of Stow vital records.

The marriage is ACTUALLY found on p. 217 under the named Whetney. It notes the duplicate gives the name as Whiting, and on p. 220, under Moses Whiting, it says see Moses Whetney. It is also found on p. 169 under Knight. So clearly whoever listed pages 222-227 could never have found any record of the marriage on those pages. --Jrich 22:48, 31 August 2018 (UTC)
