[add comment] [edit] Missing Generation [10 July 2011]The Cushman excerpt is missing a generation as there were two Isaacs between John and Joseph, as is suggested by considering that John was apparently an adult in 1635 and Joseph is not born until 1737, and then confirmed by following VRs back. Parts of this are mentioned in passing in Descendants of Edward Small. The Savage citation on Joseph's page is wrong in suggesting that Isaac came from Concord. Although a John Taylor was in Concord circa 1670 and having children, and probably was father of the Isaac that was there, the Isaac of Concord had a son Joseph born there with wife Elizabeth (Knight) in Dec 1691 which totally conflicts with the birth of John to Isaac & Sarah Taylor in Boston Jan 1691/92. Thus there are two distinct Isaac Taylors. The Isaac of Concord does seem to disappear from the records after this, so it is not unreasonable to assume he was the one who moved to Scituate, but the baptism of Rachel in Scituate in 1707 names her mother as Sarah, showing that the Isaac of Scituate was the one from Boston. I suspect there are other children between David and Rachel, and maybe even after Rachel, but I haven't found records for them yet. --Jrich 10:06, 10 July 2011 (EDT)
