Location of Johnstone [29 April 2013]

There are two places named Johnstone in Scotland:

  1. a town in Renfrewshire
  2. a parish in Dumfriesshire

Since this family also has links to Greenock in Renfrewshire, the first Johnstone possibility is more likely. However, the finding aid within WeRelate will select out a parish before a town, thus linking your family to Dumfriesshire. It would be wise to find sources for your place entries and incorporate them into your tree.
