Family talk:John Mayo and Tamisen Brike (1)

Almost everything I have seen says Tamsen/Thomasin Lumpkin married John's son Samuel, not John. Here is a posting specifically about this Those Thomasine Lumpkins which says John's wife was Tamisen ( Tamsen ) Brike. Also see Mayflower Descendant, 17:99 and NEHGR 10:157. --Jrich 23:03, 4 September 2008 (EDT)

Most children not born in New England.? [16 October 2008]

Several sources (for example, Source:Cutter, William Richard. Genealogical and Personal Memoirs Relating to the Families of Boston and Eastern Massachusetts, but also others) suggest that Rev. John Mayo emigrated about 1638. Therefore it is probably that all the children born before this date (all except Bathsheba?) were not born in New England. Apparently, John was educated in England and many sources place the births of the older children there, but John and Tamisen appear to have been married in Leiden, Holland according to a well-documented genforum posting, so it is not clear if this is correct either. --Jrich 10:19, 16 October 2008 (EDT)
