From John Gipson and Emma Emory (1): Probably same as John Gipson and Emeline Skimehorn [23 December 2017]

The only evidence for the relationship between John Gipson and Emma Emory appears to be the death record of Eli Gipson, which gives his mother's maiden name as Em Emory. Since John and Emeline Skimehorn had children both before and after Eli, and Eli was living with them in the 1880 census, and Emeline's mother's maiden name was Emery, it would appear that:

• The identification of Eli's mother's maiden name as Em Emory was a classic case of accidentally using the mother's mother's maiden name
• Thus Eli was actually the son of John Gipson and Emeline Skimehorn

Therefore, I believe that this relationship should be merged with the marriage of John Gipson and Emeline Skimehorn.--DataAnalyst 15:09, 23 December 2017 (UTC)
