Husband [19 November 2018]

Currently the husband is John CARVER, b. ABT 1703. This appears somewhat uninformed. No sources are given, the suggested birthdate is too young to marry by 1718, and younger than his wife.

Mitchell's History of Bridgewater, p. 210, says "Anne m. John Cavener (or Carver) 1718". Cavener is what the marriage record says, Carver is what is found in the will of Anne's father.

Searching for either name with a wife Ann yields a John Cavender of Middleborough with a wife Ann. They have a daughter Kathrine in 1731 and John perhaps remarried in 1750.

There are also some deeds on file, including notably, the second one below, which shows he had a wife Anne in 1725.

Vol. 15, p. 76 18 Oct 1720: John Cavender of Middleborough Blacksmith for £25 to Joseph Jenning of Bridgewater Husbandman lot #4 in Little Lot Mens Purchase in Middleborough containing 17 acres.

Vol. 19, p. 3 13 Apr 1725: John Cavender of Middleborough Blacksmith for £25 to Rodolphus Elmes of Bridgewater Yeoman 1/4 share of a parcel of meadow in Middleborough purchased on Samuel Bennett. Acknowledged 15 Apr 1725 and also by Anne Cavender ye Wife of ye s'd John Cavender.

Vol. 24, p. 65 7 Apr 1729: John Cavender of Middleborough Nailer for £50 to Samuel Warren & William Thomas the third both of Middleborough Yeomen lot 20 of 13 acres in Six & Twenty Mens Purchase in Middleborough.

I am changing this page to reflect husband as John Cavender, not John Carver. --Jrich 05:51, 20 November 2018 (UTC)
