"I've not yet found any record that supports Phebe Crane as dau of Jasper & Alice. Jasper's will in 1678 does not name her among the children mentioned. Another researcher contends that Phebe was the dau of Jasper & his 1st wife, Alice being his 2nd, but offers no proof."

Susan Abbott, in the Thomas Canfield sketch in Families of Early Milford, Connecticut, says "His wife was named Phebe. She has often been called Crane dau of Jasper but that has proven to be untrue." It seems clear that Phebe's origin and parentage remain unknown.--jaques1724 09:03, 2 November 2012 (EDT)
