Marriage Location [19 April 2015]
Marriage was probably at the longtime county of residence of Mary's father Herman Thien, i.e. Clinton County, Illinois.

- Thanks so much! I wasn't aware of any connection to Michigan, so I didn't think to look there. I'm still not sure what connection either of them had to Allegan County that they would choose to get married there. BTW, if Mary was really born in 1866-1867 that means she was 16-17 when she married, and not 22. --pkeegstra 17:52, 19 April 2015 (UTC)
- I know there was a community of German Calvinists (CRC members) in Allegan County. Which makes me curious who was the minister at her wedding, and whether any other of her siblings married in Allegan County. --pkeegstra 19:40, 19 April 2015 (UTC)
- The minister was Rev. Roelof T. Kuiper pastor of the Graafschap CRC 1879-1889 and originally ordained at Wildervank. --pkeegstra 20:23, 19 April 2015 (UTC)
