I know this connection is shaky - the only thing that I'm working on is the assertion that Lord Mayor Saltonstall is an Uncle of the New England settler. Actual references would be sort of ... helpful! --jrm03063 12:30, 11 August 2013 (EDT)
- Source added to support this relationship. However, there is something fishy about the dates in this family. Their son Samuel was Gilbert's heir, so I assume older than Richard, yet Richard's birth year is estimated way earlier (1521 in the source cited, 1517 in Wikipedia). Richard could have been born later (1540 would be pushing it, based on the number of his children married by 1601), and maybe Samuel was born much earlier than estimated (anything before 1540 would have made him over 75 at death), but it makes me wonder if there is a generation missing between Gilbert and Samuel. After all, the information I am using (and probably also used by Wikipedia) was published in 1897 - there may be errors.--DataAnalyst 18:44, 3 January 2014 (UTC)
