Family talk:Gilbert Brooks and Sarah Redway (1)

Nice Document! [6 December 2012]

Congratulations on that document! Seems pretty definitive. What sort of instrument is it? And where filed? And may I make a separate transcription out of it - so that it cited on the various pages for the people it names? --jrm03063 15:32, 5 December 2012 (EST)

As you probably now know this paragragh was copied from the Samuel Carpenter (4) WR page. I have seen the original but it was back in my pre-computer research days when I didn't pay that much attention to sources and made only cryptic notes about the contents. --Susan Irish 19:35, 5 December 2012 (EST)
I googled a fragment of the text and found it reproduced in someone's Carpenter family history, which I've noted. Someone who had a really keen interest in this family might try to go about finding if the original still exists, and adding that to the MySource transcript. BTW - what do you thing? There also appear to be two other related documents - to which I can readily give the same treatment if you think it useful (BTW, to my mind - a MySource transcription is the only way to handle any document that is important enough to note as a source - since it's going to be useful on multiple person/family pages - reproducing the text that many times would be silly - and citing another "Person" page would be confusing) --jrm03063 10:41, 6 December 2012 (EST)
