Family talk:Frederick Smith and Sarah Prior (1)

Watchers

Various additions [18 January 2020]

I came across your family today and got curious. I have formally entrered some of your notes as Source references after re-checking them in Ancestry. I found some possible entries for the children in 1901, but I thought I ought to present them to you rather that adding to their biographies because they might be wrong. With surname Smith there are so many possibilities.

I noticed that Frederick died in 1895, but did not find a death for his wife.

This entry for Jessie and Ann looks like a strong possibility:

1901 Census, Class: RG13; Piece: 1304; Folio: 14; Page: 5
Reg Dist: Hertford, Sub-Reg Dist: Hertford, Enum Dist: 2
Household 33: Upper Green, Tewin, Hertfordshire
George Tyler, head, mar, 40, labourer (woodman), born Hertforshire, Tewin
Annie Tyler, wife, mar, 34, born Hertforshire, Tewin
Jessie Smith, boarder, female, 12, born London, Chelsea
Annie Smith, boarder, female, 11, born London, Chelsea
Thomas W Harris, boarder, male, 8, born Shropshire, (unknown)

But the entry for Alfred is not as sure. I notice your have traced him through marriage and that he was on the Indian sub-continent for the births of many of his children. But is this him?

1901 Census, Class: RG13; Piece: 2482; Folio: 106; Page: 5
Reg Dist: Hereford, Sub-Reg Dist: Hereford City, Enum Dist: Herfordshire and District Working Boys Home and Certified Industrial School
Alfred William Smith, inmate, male, age 12, schooling, born London, England

Hope you don't mind my being nosey.
