Gambrills & Milsteads [9 February 2014]

Some researchers at Ancestory.com have determined that Edward Milstead leased 50 acres of Beau Plaine from Giles Blizzard.

In his will Giles Blizzard leaves 50 acres to Eliza Gambral. There is no clear evidence about who Eliza is. Some believe she is the Wife of Domingo Gambra, Others think she is the wife of William Gambrill. And there is another possibility that she is the wife of James Gambling who owns the Pasture in Pascataway.

In the 1733 Tax List for Charles County, Sarah Gambrill is on an adjacent line to Edward Milstead. Does this mean they were neighbors? Is she Sarah Harper, the Widow of William Gambrill?

The 1784 Will of Edward Milstead III lists his daughter Ann Gambrie (probably a transcript error for Gambril).

Ann Gambrill is found in the 1806 Tax List for Prince William County Virginia adjacent to William Gambrell (probably her son), the 1810 Census for Wood County Virginia (where she has joined some of her Woodyard cousins), and in the 1820 Census for Hamilton County Ohio. She may still be alive in 1830 in the household of Francis (possibly a transcript error for Travis) Gambrel in Hamilton County Ohio.--PhilGambrel 05:43, 9 February 2014 (UTC)
