Family talk:Augustus Wheeler and Irene Damon (1)

Watchers

wrong husband [18 December 2014]

I am detaching husband Person:Augustus Wheeler (1). He (according to Wheeler and census data) married Sophronia Wheeler who was still alive in 1870. So he would have been unable to marry Irene Damon in 1835. This much is clear.

I believe the husband here is Timothy Augustus Wheeler, s/o Peter Wheeler and Phebe Brooks, b. 1806 in Concord (Wheeler's #9817). The death record of Charles, his son, lists Concord as his father's birthplace, and in 1850 Irene Wheeler is living with no husband, but a Phebe Wheeler, age 57. This would appear to be Phebe, Timothy A. Wheeler's unmarried sister. It would appear that the husband had died by then (their last child is born in 1842, Irene's death record in 1871 says she was widowed, and no census-1850 and after-shows any husband), but without finding a death record, I hesitate to install this speculation as fact... --Jrich 05:06, 19 December 2014 (UTC)
