Renaming pages [19 August 2010]

Henk, I don't recall if I've described to you yet how to rename pages.

At the top of this page, it's titled Family:Anne Rintjema and Wytske Beiboer (1). However, the husband and wife are named Anne Jans Rintjema and Hiltje Sakes Zwart. To rename this family page, click the Rename link on the left menu. However, WR does not want middle names (or in this case patronymic names) in titles. They can be added later when you edit each person page. So, if you rename this page, the title would be: Family:Anne Rintjema and Hiltje Zwart. Just before I make some more mistakes: Now there are 3 familees: Anne Rintjema & Hiltje Zwart/ Anne Rintjema & Unknown (with 3 children( which is correct) and Anne Rintjema & Wijtske Beiboer, Which one should be deleted en which one must be corrected?

You are not being awkward at all. WR is a challenge to learn. That, coupled with the fact that our help pages are confusing... and in English... :-) You're doing a great job.

Let me look over these more carefully when I get home from work. I think you added in Hiltje Zwart as a wife here. Perhaps nothing needs to be deleted, and Hiltje was just put into the wrong family. Doei, --Jennifer (JBS66) 07:44, 19 August 2010 (EDT)

Henk, it appears you removed Hiltje from this page. I think this was the correct thing to do. I know what is below might be confusing - but I want to document and discuss it before I make any changes.

Anne Rintjema & Hiltje Zwart

  • Person:Hiltje Zwart (2) (Hiltje connects into my husband's Piebe Lieuwes Swart line!)
  • I think the Hiltje Zwart person page needs to be connected to the family page (the appear to be the same woman). If you edit the above Family page, go to the Wife section, you'll need to add Hiltje into that box. Type Hiltje Zwart (2) in there.

Anne Rintjema & Wijtske Beiboer

  • I think this family is OK. Wijtske married twice, once to Anne and also to Jan Lieuwes Reitsma.
  • This is also the same Anne as above.

Anne Rintjema & Unknown

I think there is a mistake here.

  • Family page: Family:Anne Rintjema and Unknown (1)
  • The Anne that married Hiltje and Wijtske - his parents were Jan Tjeerds Rintjema & Rigtje Annes Lyzenga (or Lijzenga). That means that he is currently in the wrong family. Right now, he is under Anne Rintjema and Unknown. However, he is born way too early for that.
  • I don't see that Jan and Rigtje are in WeRelate right now.--Jennifer (JBS66) 19:51, 19 August 2010 (EDT)
