Marriage

It is unclear whether Lucretia and William Traxler were married. Rev. Seward in his History of Sullivan [NH], states that Frank P Holt married Lucretia Jane (Bartlett) Traxler. ^S1 However, the transcribed marriage record indicates that Frank's marriage to Lucretia was the first marriage for each of them. We know that in the 1870 Ohio Census, in Daniel Bartlett's household (Lucretia's father) appears Frank Bartlett age 2 (without Lucretia), and again in 1880, Frank Bartlett age 12. It is possible that a son of a first marriage may not be welcomed by some in the household of a second marriage. (see Daniel Bartlett for Census details)
