Family:William Sterner and Grace Meyers (1)

Grace Edith grew up living with her mother's brother & family, uncle Owen Murray. Grace was born out of wedlock to Emma Murray. Her father was Franklin E. Meyers, who had changed his surname from Quier (Queer), at about age 15, when his mother, Barbara Bailey Queer,re-married a man named Meyers.Franklin was married at the time of Grace's birth to Cevilla Bittner. Within two years, he had moved to Geneva Village, Ashtabula Co., Ohio, where he was a fruit grower and also worked at the Champion Hardware Company.He had been born in Berlin, Somerset Co., Pa on 27 June 1854 and he died 25 Oct. 1928 in Ohio of a heart attack. Children:

• Bernice: b. 12 Sept. 1908 in Rockwood, Pa. m.15 Aug. 1924 to Joseph F. Screen, then to Russell Shaner d. 21 Jan. 1962
• Twins who died in infancy were born to Grace and william between Bernice and Mildred.
• Mildred: b. 29 March 1911 in Rockwood, Pa. m.14 Nov 1936 to Harry K. MacMillan d. 8 Aug 1999. No children.
• Floy: b. 14 July 1913 in Rockwood, Pa. m. 2 April 1938 to Francis H. Schriver d. 7 Sept 1987
• John(Bud): b. 6 July 1915 in Cumberland, Md. m. March 1933 to Edith Bance, then Oct. 1940 to Alta Bonner. No children. d.1Jan 1999
• Eleanor: b. 1 Jan. 1917 in Cumberland,Allegany Co., Md. m. 26 March 1938 to Orville Delbert "Del" Proudfoot d. 29 Apr 2007
