- ↑ Source:Eaton, Cyrus. History of Thomaston, Rockland, and South Thomaston, Maine, p. 166, indicates that his first wife had Matthew d. 1792 and two more children before she died. One might suspect her death would have been around 1796, and William undoubtedly would have soon remarried. William then preceded to have 11 child by his second wife, according to this source. No marriage record has been found. Eaton identies the second wife as Chloe Bradford, but a death record of son John by 2nd wife (see here) gives her name as Chloe Davis.
