The estimated marriage before 1632 is based on the assumption that the son John is the John "Buckman" of Boston who had a child born 1653, which would suggest a birth before 1632, and hence his parents marriage before 1632. Farmer's Register lists them together but never actually says that John is William's son. (That he has a son John by a first wife is abundantly clear from the explanation in William's will, excerpted many places, including Source:Corey, Deloraine Pendre. History of Malden, Massachusetts, 1633-1785, p. 393.) The History of Malden also cites a document saying John was above 50 in 1696, but since his father had a child by his second wife in 1641, he must have been born sometime in the 1630's, and closer to 60 than 50.
