LaVega helped pick blackberries to help pay for the Elizabeth church at that time. Don't know if they rented it or owned it. At this time Bill and Clarence took a load of chickens to town. Had the crate tied on the front of the car. They hit a bump and the crate fell off and the chickens flew off. Wore off their feet skin. Chickens everywhere! - from LaVega
