  1. ↑ The announcement in the Leeuwarder Courant states their marriage date was 25 Mei 1903. Wiebe and Sjoukjen were married before Sjoukjen disembarked the Ryndam according to a note on the ship manifest which reads "dis. to husb. pier married on ship at pier." The ship manifest said the Ryndam arrived in New York on the 26 May 1903. Ancestry.com states the ship arrived on 25 May 1903. A notice in the New-York Tribune dated 26 May 1903 states "Shipping News...Port of New-York, Monday, May 25, 1903...Steamer Ryndam (Dutch), Van der Zee, Rotterdam and Boulogne May 16, to the Holland-America Line, with 191 cabin and 1797 steerage passengers and mdse. Arrived at the Bar at 6:30 p.m."

    I'm unsure which jurisdiction this marriage would have taken place in, New York or New Jersey.
