The 1851 census shows that both Walter and Agnes were working on the Thomas Marchbank farm. He was a Shepherd and she was a Dairymaid. By June 1852 they had married and were planning on moving to Canada West. They brought two large wooden chests or kysts on the voyage. I have one of them. Walter Riddell of Saskatoon had the other, but we have no idea what became of it after he and his wife passed away.
