'Walter Allen, born about 1601; was living in Newbury in 1640; and removed to Watertown about 1652, thence to Charlestown about 1673. He married, first, Rebecca -----; and, second, Abigail Rogers Nov. 29, 1678, in Charlestown. He died in Charlestown July 8, 1681, aged eighty.'
↑ The marriage is estimated about 1630 based on the assumption Rebecca was the mother of all the children (Source:Bent, Allen Herbert. Walter Allen of Newbury, Mass., 1640, and Some of His Descendants says she was his wife "when he came to Watertown" (about 1652), and also on the estimated birth of eldest son John in 1631 (which seems reasonable given the birth of John's son in Newbury in 1656). The location is assumed England since the first documented evidence of Walter's presence in New England is 1640.
