↑ Based on the form of the birth record, it appears that the child b. 1825 was illegitimate since no father is listed. Records suggest Moses had a child in Vermont by 1822. In 1826 Betsey called herself the wife of Moses Mallory, but soon married Joab Fairman. So the parents appear to have been estranged in some manner.
