    11th May 1775 - 27th June 1775.

    In the name of God Amen, I Samuel Porter late of Drumore Township Lancaster County Schoolmaster being sick & weak in Body but Sound in mind and memory and Calling to mind that it is Appointed for all men once to die do make and ordain this my last Will & Testament as follows that is principally and first of all I recommend my Soul into the hands of God that gave it and my Body to the earth to be buried in Chris lyon lick and decent Manner not doubting my Receiving it again at the General Resurection by the Mighty Power of God and as for such worldly Estate wherewith God hath Pledged me in this life I give dispose and bequeth in the Manner and form following. First I will and bequeth to my son Jacob Porter one Hundred and Sixty Pounds which is to be paid him at y Age of Twenty one years with the Interest acruing from said money upon Consideration he gets himself baptised in the Presbytarioun Church against that time or as soon as he xxx is that ordenance after x term and likewise my box and lock that is on it Item I will and bequeth to my Brother Alexander Porter Fifty Pounds and all my wearing aperal Item I will and Bequeth to my Brother Joseph Porter Fifty Pounds. Item. I will and bequeth to my Brother Patrick Porter all that he is in due me by Bonds. Item I will and bequeth to my daughter Elesabeth Fifty Pounds if she is alive and if she xx or dies before the Money be paid then to be given to her Children equally if she has any and if she has no Children then it is to be given to my Son Jacob and if my Son Jacob Porter dies before he is of the Age of Twenty one Years then his part is to be equaly divided amoungst the other principal Legalees and I appoint James Patterson of Raphoe Township and County of Lancashire to be my only and Sole Executor of this my Last Will and Testament ratifying and Confirming this and no other as my last Will Revoking and disanelling all former Wills legacies Bequethment by me at any former time made either by word or written.     Lancaster County xx On the Twenty Seventh day of June Anno Domini 1775 Before me the Subscriber Personally appeared William Porter and Thomas Grier the two Subscribing witnesses to the within will and on their Corportal oath did depose and Say that they were present x Law x heard Samuel Porter the Testator within Named Sign Seal Publish Pronunce and declare the within Named Will xx for his Last Will and Testament and that at the doing thereof he was of Sound and well disposing mind Memory & Understanding to the best of their knowledge observation and Believe and that the words for such wordly Estate being first wrote on an razure and that the date of the will wrote at the Bottom was wrote after the Execution Thereof.     Be it remembered that on the Twenty Seventh day of June Anno Dodomini 1775 The Last Will and Testament of Samuel Porter late of Drumore Township in the County of Lancaster Yeoman deceased was proved in due form of Law and Letters Testamentory were granted to James Patterson the Executor therein Named he being first duly Qualified well and Truly to Administer the Estate of the Testator and to exhibit a truly & perfect Inventory thereof unto the Registers Office at Lancaster for on or before the Twenty Seventh day of July next and do render a True & Just Account of their Administration when thereby dutifully required Given under the Seal of the said office.
