- ↑ The probate of mother Anna (Powers) (Cox) Putnam names Marcia Gregory as a heir. Some records of children of Chester McGregory name their mother as Marcia Cox (e.g., Samuel E. McGregory record 213. Also seems to have had daughter Elvira in mid-1825 ("Elmira" Hillman record 137). But she married him in 1823 as Marcia Aldridge. The death record of Marcia McGregory places her birth about 1793 which is fits perfectly if she is a daughter of John Cox and Anna Powers. But the identity of her first husband Aldridge and the date of their marriage has not been determined.
