- ↑ No marriage record to Caroline is found. Some children are record in Bernardston with Caroline listed as mother (third family p. 20), but based on her age, she was undoubtedly too young to be the mother of some, and this was most likely the result of the town clerk being unaware and not told of a previous wife. By looking at death records of various children, it appears Caroline's first child was Annette Eugenia born 1840 (by birth record, see above) or 1839 (per death record - though age at death says 1840), while the previous known child, Henry, was born to Elizabeth (Betsey) in 1836 (death #121).
