I am researching Elizabeth Stackhouse (b. 1713 Bucks Co. PA) daughter of John Stackhouse (b. 27 Mar 1681, Yorkshire, England) and Elizabeth Pearson (b. 25 Jan 1682, Bucks County, PA).

Elizabeth Stackhouse married Thomas Tomlinson and had a son Joseph Tomlinson (b. 27 Sept 1740). I am looking for information about Joseph's wife and children (I'm hoping he married someone with the last name of Dracott).

In Bucks County Land Records it shows that Stackhouse, Tomlinson and Dracotts were all neighbors:

"18 June 1713, William Biles, sheriff of Bucks Co, to Philip Dracott, of Southampton township - 178 acres - along the land of James Carter, Thomas Stackhouse and Joseph Tomlinson. This is for the debt of Nicholas Randall that is due Ralph Dracott."

I think Thomas Stackhouse is my Elizabeth Stackhouse's uncle. I understand he never married, but had his nephews (and maybe his niece?) live with him for a while.

My ancestor was Susan (or Susannah) Tomlinson b. 1775, Bucks County PA. She married John Erwin b, 177?, Bucks County, PA. The only thing I know about Susannah is her mother was a Dracott, and ancestor was Ralph Dracott. I'm hoping that Joseph Tomlinson (son of Elizabeth Stackhouse) is my Susan's father.

Everything seems to be sort of going round and round, but with all these people being neighbors it can't be a coincidence!!!

Thanks for any help. Marybeth Erwin Hegel marybeth@nothinbut.net
