- ↑ The listings on the 1860 census schedule differ so substantially from those of the 1850 census that they may have been provided by either a young child or even a neighbor. In any case, age differences abound, including head-of-household, Thomas SHORES, listed as 1 year younger than his age in the 1850 census. Also of note is the substantial decline in the stated value of his real estate from 1850 to 1860. Alsence of both Sydney SHORES and Margaret SHORES from the 1860 census may indicate that they died between 1850 and 1860.
