  1. Source:Torrey, Clarence Almon. New England Marriages Prior to 1700, shows a Thomas Sawyer (??-1695) m. 13 Oct 1685 Mary Chamberlain, which sounds like this marriage. But checking his cited source, Source:History of the town of Hingham Plymouth County, Massachusetts, p. 3:143, it is clear that the marriage to Mary Chamberlain refers to a different Thomas Sawyer who did not die until 1732. Yet he also cites Source:The genealogical advertiser : a quarterly magazine of family history discussing the inventory of this Thomas's estate in 1695 presented by his brother Isaac and widow Mary, so he has confused the two.

Based on this, we can say Thomas' wife is not Mary Chamberlain, since she married a Thomas Sawyer of Hingham, and the marriage date for our Thomas is not 13 Oct 1685, which would have happened when he was about 13. If Thomas was of legal age (21), the marriage could not have happened before 1694.
