I too am descended from John & Clara (Marcum) Kirk, from their son Thomas who married Elizabeth Maynard (d/o Jesse & Sarah (Welch) Maynard. I don't really have anything definite to take John back farther, but Clara is supposed to be the daughter of Josiah & Edy (McDonald) Marcum/Markham.
