After a long and exhausting period of research into the wives of Thomas HALSEY Sr. b. 1590 bap. 1592 d. 1677/78, I have come to some conclusions that I'd like to share here. Please keep in mind that I don't have hard facts to back these up and they come from compiling tons of informaton, sorting through it and deciding what makes the most sense for me. The wives usually listed for Thomas Sr. are: Phebe, Phebe Barrett, Ann Johnes, Mary and Elizabeth Wheeler. 1. Drop Mary and the last name of Barrett as I believe they refer to Mary Barrett, wife of Thomas Jr. NOT Thomas Sr. 2. I believe Phebe and Elizabeth are the same person, that her proper name was Elizabeth but she was called Phebe. Hence, Thomas Sr. married (1) Elizabeth "Phebe" Wheeler ca 1625 and (2) Ann Johnes 1660 (widow of Edward Johnes)
