Thomas and May had no children.

Thomas' obituary reads, "Thomas J. Finan, 75, retired New Haven businessman, died at 5:30 o'clock Monday afternoon at his home at 1108 Powers street, New Haven, following an illness of several years. Born in Payne, O., he had resided in New Haven the last 30 years. He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, the Holy Name society and Benevolent league. Survivors include the wife, Mrs. May Finan, and two sisters, Mrs. Clara Lamb of Payne, O., and Mrs. May B. Hyman of this city. The body was removed to Ternet & Hosler's funeral home in New Haven."
