30. Kincaid, Jane/Jean and Edmiston, Thomas (1785)
Bond: Hand written (probably by John Stuart, by the handwriting) dated 20th day of July 1785. Thomas Edmiston and Samuel Caldwell are bound for the marriage of Thomas Edmiston and Jane Kincaid. The signature of Thomas looks like Th Edmifton; Samuel signed Sam'l Caldwell; each signing for himself in the presence of John Stuart.
Permission Slip: Hand written: "Sir I do hereby certify that I am satisfyd that you should grant licence of marriage for Thomas Edmiston and my daughter Jean Kincaid given under my hand this 16th day of July 1785.
John Kinkead To Mr John Stuart."
-------------Note-------------
It is interesting that the bond is for Jane and the permission is for Jean.
The handwriting in the permission slip may have been written by someone other than John Kinkead, based on the looks of the signature and the spelling of Jean Kincaid rather than Kinkead.
This John Kinkead is most probably John/Agness who lived on Swopes Knob in Greenbrier/Monroe before moving to Madison Co, Ky where he died.
