The phrasing of Abigail's father's will in 1739 when Thomas Coverly was named as a son-in-law sounds like Abigail had died, since there is no reference to her and the bequest is very modest. Thomas Coverly seems to be an uncommon name. If so, the following records may be this Thomas, but more research is needed to confirm this is all the same person. Baptized 6 Jun 1708 Thomas Coverly & Jane Covel m. 5 Aug 1740 Thomas Coverly m. 25 Nov 1761 Abigail (White) Parkman "Upon the memorial of Thomas Cloverly, of Boston in the Province of Massachusetts Bay, and Abigail his wife, late Abigail Parkman, administratrix on the estate of her late husband Elias Parkman of said Boston..." [In a list of merchants declining to import tea into Boston.] Thomas Coverly, shop-keeper, was on Newbury (Washington) street. He died Jan. 29, 1778, aged sixty-nine years eight months.
