"The second husband was not her first cousin, Thomas Cooper of Middletown, who was much her junior in age and who married Tabitha Bacon. He was probably of a different family. On 5 Jan. 1735/6, Ephraim Wilcock of Middletown sold to Thomas Cooper of Middletown, stonecutter, and 'Desiah' his wife, land bounded northeast on the homelot that did belong to Noadiah Russel decd; and 26 Dec. 1738, Thomas Cooper of Middletown and Desiah his wife sold the same land to James Brown of Middletown [Middletown Deeds, 7:323; 8:479]."
