"I submit, therefore, that Elizabeth Wills, daughter of Joshua Wills Jr. and Elizabeth Skinner, was the wife of Capt. Thomas Allyn of Windsor, CT, on the basis of the following evidence:

(1) Capt. Thomas Allyn's wife was named Elizabeth.
(2) Elizabeth Wills is designated as Elizabeth 'Allyn' in her father's will.
(3) Both Thomas and Elizabeth grew up in Windsor, making their exposure to each other almost inevitable.
(4) Thomas was born in 1696; Elizabeth was born 19 Apr 1698.
(5) Thomas and Elizabeth Allyn had a daughter named Azubah. Elizabeth Wills had a grandmother and a sister named Azubah, which would account for the use of such an uncommon name.
(6) No other Allyn is recorded as marrying Elizabeth Wills."[2]
