BURGIS, Susanna, resident in D., and Stephen Russell [int. Jr.] of D., Jan. 7, 1790. [Stephen Jr. of D., BCM]
↑ That Stephen Russell married a Susannah Burgess is known from the cited marriage record. Source:Randall, Eunice Kelley Gidley. David O'Killia the Immigrant of Old Yarmouth, Massachusetts with His Descendants and Allied Families, 1652-1962, p. 102, has the wrong date, 7 Jan 1789, instead of 7 Jan 1790 as given in the record, which does not enhance her credibility when she says it is d/o Joseph and Deliverance Burgess who m. Stephen Russell. Even correcting the erroneous date, that still makes Susannah not quite 15 at the time of the alleged marriage. But, as no other Susannah Burgess of appropriate age is known, and Stephen is the brother of Clark who married Susannah's sister Sarah, Randall's unjustified assertion is probably true.
