- Source:Leonard, Ermina Newton. Newton Genealogy, p. 263, adds a son William to this family between Henry and James. However, she has no birth date or any details about him, and there is no indication of the basis for his inclusion in this family. Clearly, he did not appear in the 1850 or 1860 census, so if there was such a son, he must have died in infancy.
