  2. There are two Seth Fields born in Northfield in 1791 (son of George and son of Rufus), and one of them lived until 1874 (possibly both? One death is recorded in Northfield 4 Jan 1874, while another in Erving 4 Jun 1874 is crossed out? However, this seems remote, as both death records give the same parents. Note that only one gravestone is found, for 4 Jun 1874.) The son of Rufus is said to have married Polly Coy (Source:Temple, Josiah Howard. History of the Town of Northfield, Massachusetts, for 150 Years, p. 445) and she is said to have lived until 1871 (but the memorial page for the Seth may be confused, as it shows a second marriage for him that is not found in records to a woman who outlived him even though he died as a widower?? And it gives chooses to modify the birthdate to match the age on the stone so that it ends up matching no recorded birth and contradicts the death record.) The death of Polly Coy Field in 1871 might suggest that the marriage of this page involves the son of George?

It is not clear if they divorced. Problematically, Mary remarried using the name Hastings, which is why the date of death is of interest.
