"Several references say she is the daughter Samuel Eggleston of Middletown, Conn. … she is the daughter of his brother, Benjamin Eggleston. Benjamin Eggleston who married Hannah Osborne, died in Windsor, Conn. His will dated Dec. 16, 1729 states: 'I give unto my daughter, Marcy Miller 5 shillings'. Marcy was born in Windsor, Conn. Oct. 2, 1680 (Matthew Grant Record). She married in Middletown, Conn. July 26, 1702, Samuel Miller of that place.
Stiles Ancient Windsor, II:199, has a confusing entry which says Samuel Eggleston's daughter, Marcy, married Samuel Miller, 1702; (2) John Benton (which is of course, wrong) then adds she died Sept. 2, 1751 in 71st year. I haven't been able to find this so don't know if it is under Benton, or what name so I don't know which Mercy/Marcy died at that date." The record of her death, as Mary Miller, widow, is in the Middletown Vital Records, p. 313 [NEHGS], p. 2:63 [GPC].
