MARRIAGE: (Samuel Freeman married) St. Ann Blackfriars, London, 14 July 1624, Apphia Quick [TAG 11:79]; she was daughter of William Quick [TAG 11:178]. They were divorced about 1644 [NEHGR 97:393], and she m. (2) before 8 December 1662 THOMAS PRENCE, as his third of four wives, and she died before 1 August 1668 [MD 6:230-35].

Supreme Court of Suffolk County, Massachusetts, file 257, Jane Halsall sues for divorce from George Halsall and cites the case of "Mrs. Freeman sometimes of Watertown" as precedent. The Freeman case alluded to has not been found, but the divorce of Samuel and Apphia is mentioned in passing in Source:Banks, Charles Edward. Winthrop Fleet of 1630.
The daughter Apphia is probably a phantom.
