- The children were all christened with the last name of Haukshurst. William, John, Sampson (1), Marie, and Susanna show in the christening records that they were children of Sampson, but no mother is listed. Grace, Sampson (2) and Christopher's christening records show them to be children of Sampson and a mother named, Alice. It is not known whether or not Alice was also the mother of the oldest five children. It may be that the mother's name was simply not used during the years in which they were christened.
- Margarett Haukshurst married Henrye West 8 Sep 1616. It is possible she was a child of Sampson's born before he became a vicar in Dunchurch in 1599. It is possible also that she was a sister/aunt/mother of Sampson, as well.
